The Service
The Abbey is unique among Summerside worship communities in its incorporation of elements from many diverse Christian traditions. This diversity allows us to offer something familiar yet different.
The service includes music, scripture, a short time of silent prayer, and a theological reflection. The dim candlelit space of the sanctuary offers a worship setting that is both beautiful and peaceful. This time is intentionally relaxed and lasts about 45 mins. Coffee and fellowship follows our service.

TheologyTheology plays a crucial role in our community. Robust theological exploration allows us to engage with and to re-imagine what it means to be a Christian in the context of an ever-changing world.

ChildrenFamilies are encouraged to bring children to The Abbey. The service is relatively short, and the physical space and music are engaging. We believe children do enjoy this time, and the community is enriched by their presence. .

Is the Abbey a Church? The short answer is no! The Abbey is not a church in the traditional sense, nor is it in competition with local congregations. It is primarily a single weekly service, a designated time and place for people of all denominations to find rest, peace, and renewal. When one leaves, the hope is that they leave a little more refreshed, a little more spiritually nourished.
